More to come...

Leah's First Night

The first night wasn't as peaceful as many led us to believe. Leah was up most of the night wanting more food while trying to figure out how to eat.

We finally needed to get a much deserved peaceful nap at around 2 am and sent Leah on her first field trip to the nursery. She returned around 5 am for the next round of feeding than slept the rest of the morning.

Leah was checked out by a series of people this morning all with rave reviews. Ears, eyes, heart, and everything else tested really well.

Because Danielle works here at the hospital we have been given one of the biggest and nicest rooms. We also are prepared for the waves of visitors that could be coming the next couple of days since we will probably be stuck here until mid day Thursday.

Please either text or call us prior to visiting so we can make sure Leah and Danielle are up for it.

Trying to Stay Busy

As the days pass Danielle is finding it harder to stay busy. So in efforts to help Megan and Cole came by to visit. We had a great time hanging out and finding odd ways to have a laugh, like load testing the baby swing while on the highest setting.

We concluded the visit with a nice trip to IHOP (haven't been there in FOREVER) for the breakfast potato fusion combo.

14 Days & Counting

14 days to go, Danielle is pretty much in a holding pattern. Leah is still riding high and staying warm and comfy. The past Dr's visit yielded results of no "progress" which needless to say did not make Danielle very happy. Danielle has a meeting for Cheerleading on Wed night, but after that she is ready for Leah to make her appearance.
This is Danielle's 38 week picture. Looks like she is hiding a beach ball! The nurses at Good Sam have stated that Danielle is ALL baby.

Less than a Month

With less than a month to go, Danielle finds herself nesting more and feeling more of the aches and pains. She is on weekly visits to the doctor now as well as finishing her last week of cheerleading. Below are some pictures of some nesting accomplishments.

I have been busy shoveling the endless snow and putting together the endless baby "junk". Today we received about 9 inches of snow and I picked up Danielle from work just to make sure all were safe.

We attended our childbirth class this past weekend with Cara and Adam, which at times was pointless, but we had fun none the less. Below is a picture of me volunteering for some role playing.

We seem to be getting closer to being ready for Leah's arrival with a few tasks still to finish, like packing our bag and getting the bases for Leah's car seat installed.

Until next time, stay warm.

The Count Down Continues

Danielle, Leah, and I have all been doing well since the last post. A few milestones have come and gone. We now only have about 7 weeks to go until we reach our due date. We have completed our Hospital tour successfully.. ((from Clifton Ave. side - down the stairs to the left - find the stork elevator.)) I passed my tour test with flying colors.

This is a picture of Danielle doing her first load of the millions for Leah. I think she enjoyed this load, but am guessing that mood will change very soon after her arrival.

We recently added some script letters above Leah's crib to give it a little character. Danielle has also put a sheet on the mattress to give it a more complete or homey feel. (She could not wait for the bedding)

This is probably our newest addition - storage/bookshelf.

As for what the near future holds. We are excited about a couple showers that are this coming weekend. As well as Danielle has a doctors visit this Saturday and two weeks after that it will be every week. So the time is still flying by (for now).

First REAL Pictures

Things so far are going pretty well. Neither Danielle or Myself can complain about the pregnancy thus far. However Danielle is getting more uncomfortable a nights while trying to sleep. From what I am hearing, this is just the beginning.

We are now in our 30th week and are getting the room setup. The furniture is purchased and assembled which includes a changing table/dresser, tall dresser, crib, and glider. The room is painted and ready to go minus some wall art and decorations. (Pictures to come soon)

After many visits to Becoming Mom, we finally have a few good pictures.

This is a picture of Leah smiling which we feel is one of the best. We have already determined that she has My cheeks but NOT my nose (which is a good thing).

As far as things go, we have many items on the 'to do' list checked off, but oh so many more to check.
